In 2018, Megan asked her husband Brian for a candle making kit. Having received a candle from a relative years before, she thought it would be fun to try and create one herself. Brian failed to get her one, so nearly a year later during the Christmas 2018 season, Megan and Brian went and purchased $50 worth of candle making supplies from a local Hobby Lobby. They began by creating candles on their dining room table in their kitchen.

Within months, they were making candles as a side hustle alongside their full-time careers. Fast forward nearly a year later in late 2019, Brian left his career in IT, as Megan had left her medical career months earlier. They were now officially full-time candle makers!

What began as a husband and wife team, with $50 on a dining room table, is now a team, hand-pouring all your candles in beautiful Spokane, WA. Our company, which began in January of 2019, still continues with our original mission; to create a candle that was as eco-friendly as possible while proving to be aesthetically pleasing and affordable.

Nearly 5 years later, Anchored Northwest has been featured in Darling Magazine's Darling Box and most recently in Bloomingdale's, along with being found in Market of Choice and New Seasons Market grocery stores through-out Oregon. In addition, we can be found in over 4000 locations, located in 50 states and 14 different countries around the world. In fact, you can use our store-locator to find our candles near you!

Not to mention, we have been able to donate over $84,000 to non-profit organizations in the last 2 years alone!

The reason? Our amazing candles of course!

Our triple-scented, wood wick candles are made with an untreated cedar wood wick (from US sustainable forests), 100% soy wax and contain no dyes or stearic acid. All scents are a fragrance and essential oil blend and always phthalate-free.
